This obscure blacksploitation soundtrack features a hip Monk Higgins score for a Pam Grier film that’s supposedly “Hotter than Coffey and meaner n’ Foxy Brown”. Having seen the film, we don’t know if we’d totally agree with that assessment, but the music’s strong enough, and the soundtrack’s right up there with the best of its kind.

Barbara Mason sung the title track and a few more vocal numbers – like “I’m In Love With You“, “Good Man Is Gone“, and “Sheba Baby” – all in the mode of her hipper work during the time, but the best cuts are the instrumentals, of course!

Check out “The Shark“, “Speedboat“, “Heavy Shot“, and “Breast Stroke“, a necessary theme in any Pam Grier film!
